Festivals - Halloween
Could you bring the good news of Jesus to children and youth in your local area this halloween? Arise Sheffield is giving away free goody bags, containing a mini Gospel of John, and a children's Bible storybook, for you to fill with sweets and give to trick-or-treaters. They also have Arise:Hallow packs which contain 'Wear Your Faith Fortnight' badges and Hallow goody bags, to help your community light up the darkness this Autumn. Find out more on their website by clicking on the logo or title.
Streets of Light is a Sheffield-born initiative that seeks to bring change and transformation to neighbourhoods and communities by creating window displays that convey a message of Light, Love and Hope as an alternative to Halloween. For one week at the end of October, people create a window display in their home, place of work, school, church etc. Could you, your school or church get involved this year? Designed for children aged (approximately) 7-10, UCB's Bags of Hope are a great resource to give away at Halloween. The bags are carbon neutral, made from sugar cane, and each bag includes a Biblically-based full-colour story booklet from our friends at OneHope, along with an A5 flyer with more information about UCB's resources. World Vision UK’s Christian Alternative Halloween theme is based on Acts 20 verse 35: ‘You’ll not likely go wrong here if you keep remembering that our master said, ‘you’re happier giving than getting’. (The Message). The Pumpkin Heroes pack is for KS1 children and suitable for 4-10 year olds. It contains a 20 minute show with games, crafts, the cartoon and sing-a-long fun.
