CaSS Christian Union ideas

The following links might be useful if you are involved with, or thinking of setting up, a Christian group in school.

Community Bible Study provides resources for teaching about the Bible to pre-school, Junior, Youth and adult groups. There is no charge for the materials, and they are available in 13 different languages.

 

SchoolsLive from Scripture Union provides Bible-based resources for Christian groups in schools. There is an outline for each week of the school year plus access to search the archive of SchoolsLive and LightLive activities. Register for free here to access the materials and planning tools.
The sessions and activities that appear on SchoolsLive are written by professional schools workers who work regularly in UK schools.

Journey Makers is a free after school  club run by TLG where volunteers are trained in connection with local churches to run exciting after school sessions with games, activities and songs based on relevant Christian themes.

 

Start a Wonder Club using Godly Play.

 

 

Use the Seriously Awkward resources from the Children's Society. Six sessions designed for sessions with 11-16 year olds, they cover the following topics: Identity, Mind matters, Healthy relationships, Life online, Seriously Awkward and Make a difference. Register for free to receive a link to download the resources including a leader's handbook, postcards, and handouts.

Festive (FE and Sixth Form Initiative) has great ideas for starting a Christian Union in Y13, college or university, many of which could also be applied in a school context.

SU Scotland is a good place to find CU/ lunchtime club resources for Primary or Secondary.

 

 

Guardians of Ancora is a free tablet game for 8- to 11-year-olds offering an immersive interactive experience of Bible stories. Children enter this virtual world as Guardians of the city, called Ancora, and their challenge is to find the Bible stories that have been lost. The website includes guidance for running a Guardians club in KS2.

What about taking your group on a residential? Here are some ideas:
